#Project366 – week 11

Laying my life out to you on a plate, one day at a time…

#71 - removing the bun from my burger

Day #71 – This photo may not be pretty, but it reflects a necessary part of my routine…removing the doughy bun from my beef burger topped with cheese and red onion relish in order to reduce the calories and prevent carb-overload

#Project366 – week 10

The first full week of food photos since switching to my new iPhone…looking back on my earlier roundup articles I’m almost ashamed at how poor the quality of my snapshots had been previously! They say a bad workman always blames his tools, so I’m hoping that the this new technological boost will have an equally positive impact in my photographic skills!

#64 - Poires au Chocolat's gooey coconut chocolate blondie recipe

Day #64 – Testing out Poires au Chocolat’s recipe for toasted coconut and dark chocolate blondies

Blueberry cake for day of loafing around

Blueberry loaf cake sliced for serving

I doubt I’m the only person whose cooking habits change with the weather. As someone who grew up by the seaside I’ve always been a sun-worshipper, so once spring has sprung I like my meals to be ready within minutes and leave me feeling refreshed. But when it’s pouring with rain I can think of no better way to spend the day than in the warmth of my kitchen, cooking up a storm.

#Project366 – week 9

As you scroll through this latest instalment of #Project366 photos, you will probably notice a significant shift in quality between the photos at the start of the week and at the end. I’m overjoyed to announce that after months of screaming in frustration whilst my old iPhone crashed mid-tweet, I’ve finally upgraded to the 4GS. I’ve been staggered by the level of detail captured by my new camera, and have a renewed enthusiasm for my daily photo challenge…

#57 - Brixton Village lunch tour

Day #57 – Arriving at Brixton Village’s Granville Arcade for an eagerly-anticipated lunchtime tour of this stunning secret food hall

Ice-cream sandwich to instantly satisfy your sweet tooth

Icc-cream sandwich ready to devour
It’s the end of another long day, which has been part of an even longer week at work where I suddenly seem to have transformed into Challenge Anneka. I’m conscious that I haven’t written an article in over a fortnight (breaking my 2012 blog goals) and have a heap of photos of my homage to Pieminister’s Moo pie, plus a blueberry loaf cake, patiently waiting to be shared with the world. But I’m afraid I don’t think I have the energy for that level of eloquence or entertaining conversation tonight.

However, before I rest my weary head and aching limbs I must share with you this “recipe” for the ideal instant snack to satisfy any cravings your sweet tooth may be suffering from late at night (or early in the morning, depending on when you read this!). I say "recipe”, because it’s really more a question of assembly…there’s barely any cooking involved, and as an added bonus it only takes a matter of minutes to rustle up!

#Project366 – week 8

This week I passed the 50 day mark on my challenge to capture a food-related photograph every day for a year! See which gastronomic experiences were worth a snapshot…

#50 - Breaking the rules by eating mint thins before Eight

Day #50 – Breaking the rules by sneakily eating a couple of After Eights before the allotted time...

#Project366 – week 7

Judging by this photo roundup I wouldn’t blame you for thinking that I don’t actually do any “real” cooking - this week seemed to be equally split between enjoying sociable meals out and suffering long days at work in solitude!
#43 - spicy starter selection at Kaosarn Brixton
Day #43 – Catching up with a good friend over a starter selection of crispy spring rolls and juicy chicken satay skewers at Kaosarn in Brixton Village (one of my favourite places to visit for an excellent cheap eat)
